The Rev. Daniel J. Buringrud, Lead Pastor

Pastor Dan was born and raised in Fairfield, CA and was ordained in 2006. He has served congregations in Sacramento, and Western New York; most recently serving at St. Paul’s Lutheran in Ellicottville, NY. In addition, he served as the Chaplain for the Ellicottville Fire Department. Pr. Dan and his wife Cheryl have three sons who live in Sacramento. Dan is a devoted lifelong fan of the Giants, Warriors, and 49ers, and collects studio art glass.

Trevor Norman Reynolds, Director of Operations

A fourth-generation Californian originally from Los Angeles, Trevor relocated to San Francisco to study at the University of California, Berkeley. He is a trained creative and critical thinker with a focus on project and process oversight. His diverse background provides him insight into various domains; particularly communications, leadership, administration, and management. Trevor has the privilege of leading the incredible team at St. Mark’s, collaborating in service to uphold the values that have guided us through our 175 years of tradition. With his time outside of St. Mark’s, Trevor enjoys painting, reading, and taking long urban walks.

Michelle Biyal, Office Manager

Born in New York, schooled as an ecologist in Illinois, Michelle immigrated to San Francisco in 2000. She dipped her toe into the business world as a temp at Monroe Personnel Service and became the office manager there in short order.

Michelle has been an office manager for a San Francisco architecture firm and a probate accountant for a small legal firm. She stopped short of pursuing a career as a paralegal as her heart yearned to serve a loving community.

She’s delighted to be incorporated into the family of St. Mark’s.

Lorenn Swesey, Events Manager

Lorenn is an integral member of the St. Mark's team overseeing the Events Department. She is passionate about creating memorable experiences in our beautiful sanctuary. Holding multiple degrees with a background in human resources and property management, Lorenn is well qualified to deliver a meaningful client experience. With her sharp regard to detail and attentive focus, Lorenn strives to ensure every event in our unique setting is a success. Lorenn is a native of Washington state, but has called the Bay Area home for over a decade. Her pride and joy are her two kids, both whom she loves to pieces

Cory S., Media Wizard

Cory grew up with a crayon in his hand, and has continued to pursue the arts in various forms ever since. A member of St. Mark’s since 2012, Cory is thrilled to be able to offer his design talents remotely to the community. He lives with his wife and cats where the redwoods meet the sea.
