Wednesday Nights

6:00 pm Midweek Supper

All are welcome to join for a community dinner prepared by church members in Heritage Hall prior to worship.

6:45 pm Midweek Worship

You are invited to give yourself a gift in the middle of your week. This worship service will refresh you and leave you with a sense of calm and security. You will be fed through singing, and quiet contemplation of scripture. In our peaceful Sanctuary lit with candles, you will feel God's presence and trust more deeply that you are God's beloved child. Come and be fed.

Who We Are

St. Mark's is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). The ELCA has nearly 10,500 local congregations throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico. There are 65 synods throughout the ELCA - we belong to the Sierra Pacific Synod. The Bishop of our synod is Bishop Mark Holmerud. The Presiding Bishop of the ELCA is Bishop Mark Hanson. The national office of our churchwide organization is in Chicago.

The ELCA is a community of faith that shares a passion for making positive changes in the world. Our faith is built around a strong belief in God as made known to us in Jesus Christ.Through worship, service, and education, we practice our faith, grow our relationship with God and experience God's grace in our lives.

We also work hard to put our faith into action. In today’s complex world, we strive to make a difference in practical, realistic ways.

With nearly 10,500 congregations across the U.S., Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, and nearly five million members—we welcome you to experience St. Mark's as the local expression of the wider church. St. Mark's has over 500 members and you are invited to become one of them.  We are a diverse and gifted community in which we gather around belief in our Triune God to be fed in worship. Nourished by the living bread of Jesus Christ, we are strengthened  to do God's work with our hands out in the world.

St. Mark's Lutheran Church is a Reconciling in Christ congregation. We are one of over 285 congregations, 21 synods and nine organizations across the ELCA and ELCIC (Canada) which have declared that lesbian and gay people are equally welcome to join fully in the worship and life of this Christ-centered community.

What we believe

Jesus said: “Whoever welcomes you welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me.” Matthew 10:40

St. Mark’s Lutheran Church seeks to be a place where all people encounter the living God and the reconciling Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are an open and affirming community and welcome people of all walks of life who are looking for a spiritual home.

Mission Statement

St. Mark’s Lutheran Church is a growing Christian community rooted in tradition and open to new expressions. Responding to God's compassionate love, we reach out in service to the community and the world. With openness of heart and spirit, we welcome all.
