Wednesday Nights

6:00 pm Midweek Supper

All are welcome to join for a community dinner prepared by church members in Heritage Hall prior to worship.

6:45 pm Midweek Worship

You are invited to give yourself a gift in the middle of your week. This worship service will refresh you and leave you with a sense of calm and security. You will be fed through singing, and quiet contemplation of scripture. In our peaceful Sanctuary lit with candles, you will feel God's presence and trust more deeply that you are God's beloved child. Come and be fed.

7:30 pm Adult Choir Rehearsal

Mr. Jun Ranches, Director of Church Administration and Operations

2009-Jun This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , Director of Church Administration and Operations, manages all business affairs for St. Mark's Lutheran Church and the Urban Life Center.  He is in the office Tuesday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

A pastor's son, Jun was born and raised in the church.  So influential was his Christian upbringing, Jun graduated with a Master of Divinity degree from Chicago Theological Seminary in Illinois.  He also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology degree from the University of California at Berkeley.  For over seven years he served as Youth Minister at United Church of Christ (UCC) congregations in Chicago, IL and Sunnyvale, CA.

While he continues to discern his call to ordained ministry, he is happy to be given the opportunity to use his other skills in a thriving church in San Francisco.

From upgrading St. Mark's network and website, to tackling the budget and facilities, Jun loves  wearing many hats at St. Mark's.  His capacity to take on the variety of challenges comes from over fourteen years of finance and administration, human resource, and management experience at companies such as Sony, BetaSphere, and Seneca Center.  Jun is honored to be trusted with the important work of the church, and feels privileged to be a part of St. Mark's talented staff.

For the most part, Jun likes to stay active in his free time.  For a few hours each week, he works and volunteers for the San Francisco Night Ministry, a cause he finds quite fulfilling.  He loves to travel, enjoys working on the house and in the garden, and tries his best to stay fit with the occasional run.  He ran his first marathon in Florence, Italy in 2006, and hopes to begin training for another one soon.  Jun and his family own and enjoy their cozy little house in Fremont.
