AIDS WALK SAN FRANCISCO THIS SUNDAY,
JULY 20
St. Mark’s Lutheran will take part in
the annual AIDS Walk on July 20 and is looking for
your help as either a participant or donor. Last
year’s team walkers (Chuck Lewis and Dana Utz)
raised over $9,900 for the San Francisco AIDS
Foundation. And, a total of over $4.5 million was
raised by some 25,000 participants who took part in
the 10 kilometer walk in Golden Gate Park. The Walk
(now in its 22nd year) helps raise urgently needed
funds for local AIDS services and sends the message
that the crisis is not over. It’s estimated that
almost 22 million people worldwide have died of
AIDS, and 40 million more are living with HIV. If
you are interested in joining the team, making a
donation or requesting information, you can contact
team leader Dana Utz at 415-515-1218 or dana_utz@hotmail.com.
